Professional Floristry degree students recently exhibited their stunning work on campus with the title: “Keep Calm and Put Flowers in Your Life.”
The creative and innovative group, which includes students from as far afield as Malaysia and South Korea, were given the task of creating two unique designs, which draw on the students inspirations and individual expressions. A funeral tribute was also created using a variety of techniques taught within the classroom.
Writtle staff and students flocked to view the eye-catching displays and to vote for their favourite. The overall winner of the show was Byoungsung Son from South Korea.
Course Manager for the Floristry degree, Julia Ryde, said: “The students worked so hard planning the designs and thinking about the inspiration behind them. To create such elaborate pieces in the time scale was amazing! The finished designs were beyond my expectations. I think the whole process has given the students confidence and shown the wider audience what is possible.”
Head of Marketing, Craig Emery, also visited the exhibition and was equally as impressed: “Every year I am so impressed with the standard and quality on display. The level of creativity seems to get higher and higher each year and every single student should be very proud of the calibre of work they’ve produced. It’s a real testament to the teaching that takes place at Writtle.”
