Writtle College has produced an infographic video to promote its Further Education specialist courses to school leavers.

The College offers a range of courses, from Level 1 to Level 3, which can lead onto exciting career paths or higher study – but some school leavers may not be aware of the choices they have.

The video showcases the options open for school leavers after they have studied their GCSEs. Now the participation age has been raised, students have to remain in education until their 18th birthday, but this doesn’t have to be at sixth form.

Writtle College offers Diplomas which have the perfect balance of hands-on experience and academic study, preparing students with the employability, life and practical skills to enter a competitive jobs marketplace or to progress in education. They result in students attaining UCAS tariff points, which can then be used to gain entry to undergraduate courses at Writtle College or universities across the UK.

Writtle also runs Apprenticeship schemes with local and national companies, which allow students to earn while they learn.

Liz Wood, Head of Further Education Curriculum at Writtle College, said: “Some school leavers may not be aware of what we offer at Writtle and how the College experience can give them the chance to continue their studies in an exciting new environment. They will be able to continue to improve their Maths and English skills while gaining a qualification that combines practical and academic work.

“Many of the courses we offer here are vocational and offer students the fantastic chance to pursue their interest and turn it into a career, while Apprenticeships give them the opportunity to learn and earn. We feel that these exciting options are communicated in a visually engaging and succinct way in this new infographic video – and feedback has already been very positive.”

Karen Ager, Marketing Officer at the College, said: “We want to highlight to students the many exciting study options that are available for them away from the school environment. We visit a lot of schools and colleges to promote our courses and this infographic will be another way to inspire them and encourage them to study with us.

“The infographic video has been launched on the College’s Social Media platforms and has been specifically designed to appeal to a younger audience. Its informal and quirky style has proven a great way of engaging with school leavers.”

Writtle College has previously produced two infographics to raise awareness of careers in Agriculture and Horticulture.
