Writtle College students and staff have been awarded a place in the prestigious RHS Floristry College of the Year competition, which will take place at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2016. As a result of their creative and eye-catching display at Hampton Court Flower Show 2015, a group of Level 2 and Level 3 Diploma Floristry students, supporting Writtle floristry staff, will compete in the national final next year.
This celebrated competition, which was launched in 2014, is open to UK-based floristry colleges and training providers to showcase the talent of students. Writtle College will go head-to-head with three other UK colleges to compete for this illustrious accolade.
Elaine Thackray, Lecturer in Floristry at Writtle, commented: “We are thrilled that the hard work of both our students and staff has resulted in securing a place for this prestigious competition. We are all very excited about the next stage and starting the creation process for our display piece. ”
The floristry team will soon begin crafting the display for the 2016 final once the theme has been announced.
