The latest foal to be born at Writtle College will be the star attraction of the Lordships Stud Open Day.

The fun-filled day, from 11am to 3pm on Sunday 10 May, will feature demonstrations and activities as well as the chance to meet the mares, foals, stallions and youngstock at the Stud.

This season, Handley Barns Daphne is expecting a foal on 4 May.

Caroline Brace, Stud Groom, said: “The Stud Open Day is being organised by our equine degree students in conjunction with staff. It’s always a really fun event and we enjoy showing the community our work, facilities, horses and foals.”

The day will include activities, demonstrations with stallions and youngstock in the outdoor school, as well as stalls and children’s activities. You can also find out more about the exciting equine courses on offer at the College.

The event is free but raises money for The National Foaling Bank.

Address: Lordships Stud, Back Road, Writtle, Essex, CM1 3PD. There is limited parking at the Lordships Science Campus on Lordship Road, Writtle, CM1 3RR. Well behaved dogs are allowed on leads.
