About the Course
This 5 evening course is aimed to allow those already in employment who wish to further their education/abilities within the welding field. The course provides basic foundation knowledge and practical experience relating to these 2 processes and has been designed for those wishing to develop or advance their potential. A series of informal, but measurable tasks will be set during the course to provide recognition of achievement. Topics covered will include:
- The methods and techniques used to achieve high standards
- Functions of controls and settings
- AC/DC welding plants and their applications
- Electrode types and selection
- Filler wire types and applications
- Types and availability of shielding gasses
- Weld fault investigation and rectification
- Health and safety
Entry Requirements
Candidates are required to bring their own PPE. We are governed by Health and Safety Executive (HSE) regulations therefore you will not be allowed to start the course without wearing non-nylon flame retardant coveralls and safety boots with steel toe caps.
