Research Study Options

The University College has a tradition of successful Postgraduate Research Students that have graduated with studies focusing on land-based, environmental, animal science.

The University College can offer a number of exciting bespoke postgraduate research degrees tailored to individuals' needs and interests. Some of the areas of study available include:

  • Postharvest Technology
  • Veterinary Physiotherapy

Research Degrees are available at the following levels of study:

Master of Science by Dissertation

This award requires one full-time year (two years Part-time) of research investigation

Master of Arts by Dissertation

This award requires one full-time year (two years Part-time) of research investigation

Master of Philosophy (MPhil)

An MPhil is awarded after the equivalent of two years full-time study (four years part-time), and could lead to a Doctor of Philosophy programme.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

A PhD is awarded for study solely by research and takes the equivalent of a minimum of three years of full-time work or six years of part-time work.

All of the research degrees are followed by a completion year (maximum period of study).

Applications are welcomed from international students. Reduced tuition fees are available for exceptionally strong candidates.
