Powered Pole Pruner Refresher (Lantra Awards)

About the Course

Health and Safety Executive (HSE) recommend all operators have regular refresher / update training to ensure they work to industry best practice and maintain their levels of competence. The suggested intervals for such training are:
  • Occasional users - every 2 to 3 years
  • Full time users - every 5 years
This one day course covers safe use and maintenance of a Powered Pole Pruner. Topics covered will include risk assessments, legislation, personal protective equipment, pre-use checks, routine checks and maintenance, preparation of site, machine and materials.

Entry Requirements

We are governed by Health and Safety Executive (HSE) regulations therefore candidates will not be allowed to start the course without the correct equipment. They may prefer for their comfort and safety, to bring their own Personal Protective Equipment. We strongly recommend participants also wear a high visibility vest.

Participants must already be competent is the use of a powered pole pruner and supply their own machine.

Useful Information

Free parking is available on campus; a permit will be issued and should be clearly displayed.

Tea and coffee making facilities are available, please bring a packed lunch and any other refreshments.
