Outreach and Access Work

Writtle University College (WUC) works with the Essex UniConnect programme to raise aspiration and attainment levels among our target groups regardless of institution or discipline focus, as well as providing opportunities to explore and engage with our specific offer.

One strand of that collaborative partnership work is delivering a project aimed at increasing HE attainment levels among the regional care-leaver population. In 2022, the College will work with Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) and University of Essex as part of a collaborative project called Future Stars. This project is targeted at care experienced students in Years 9-13, who receive a range of support such as one-to-one guidance and wellbeing support, additional tutoring in English and Maths, university taster days and summer school places, and other online information and webinars.
