Line Trimmer - Grass Cutting (Lantra Awards)

About the Course

This one day integrated training and assessment programme is for experienced operators and covers routine maintenance, operational techniques and safe use. The training is aimed at operators working in a commercial environment.

Entry Requirements

We are governed by Health and Safety Executive (HSE) regulations therefore candidates will not be allowed to start the course without wearing steel toe capped boots or shoes, gloves and suitable protective clothing which provides full cover for arms and legs. We strongly recommend also wearing a high visibility vest.

Candidates are required to bring their own Personal Protective Equipment, but if this presents a problem we can provide:

  • Brushcutter face shield to EN166 and hearing protection to EN352
  • Safety glasses to EN166
  • Safety helmet to EN397 for protection against falling objects and overhead obstructions, incorporating ear protection to EN352. Under a mesh visor as face protection, safety glasses to EN166 must be worn as eye protection
  • Gloves - adequate to protect hands against flying debris

By making a booking you are declaring yourself medically fit to participate in this course.

Useful Information

Candidates may prefer, for their own comfort and safety to bring their own machine in “as used” condition along with operator manual and any spares, e.g. air filters, blades, etc. We can then work on a “real” situation and do some routine servicing.

Free parking is available on campus; a permit will be issued and should be clearly displayed.

Tea and coffee making facilities are available, please bring a packed lunch and any other refreshments.
