About the Course

If you are looking for a career within the animal care industry, this qualification is aimed at you.

You will gain the practical skills and knowledge which are important when working as a competent dog walker.

Assessments are completed through practical and oral tasks.

The qualification covers the skills you will need to progress to work as a Dog Walker.

Mandatory content covers:
  • Roles/Responsibilities of a professional dog walker
  • Legislation and Codes of Practice
  • Breeds and behaviour
  • Walking and controlling a dog
  • Problems, injuries and emergencies
Participants must be over 16

Entry Requirements

Participants should bring a notepad and outdoor clothing appropriate for the weather including sturdy footwear.

Catering facilities are limited at weekends therefore participants are advised to bring a packed lunch, refreshments will be provided.

By making a booking you are declaring yourself medically fit to participate in the course.

Useful Information

Free parking is available on campus; a permit will be issued and should be clearly displayed.
