There are four areas of the University College, which most students get to know very well; these are Information Services, IT Training, the Library and Media Resources.
Many aspects of these facilities exist for the benefit of students, which means that issues like opening times, versions of software etc. are planned with you in mind. Accessibility is key, so levels of service are continuously being revised in line with demand.
Information Services
Students have access to eleven computer suites throughout the University College, with high specification machines capable of running the latest versions of software and accessing the Internet and student Intranet. All students also have access to printing and scanning facilities, including high quality colour printing. The University College also has a wide range of software products available to staff and students.Advice and support on all IT-related matters is available from the support desk in U51. Guidance is available Monday to Friday.
All students automatically receive their own network account for Internet and email access. University College email can be accessed from any computer connected to the Internet.
The University College provides network connections in all halls of residence. This enables students living on campus who bring their own computers to access the Internet, Intranet and email facilities.

Before starting at Writtle students will have the opportunity to access induction materials explaining the systems that will be used at the University College, and information on how to connect to the Wi-Fi.Regular training sessions on a range of software products and techniques to support academic study are available.
