Improve your Drawing Skills

About the Course

Open to everyone including beginners who wish to extend their skills in drawing. The course takes place in our glasshouse a beautiful environment to study, also outside in the Writtle grounds subject to weather.

Develop a love of drawing, practical activities to engage and inspire you while developing skills and knowledge. This course is for personal development and does not lead to a qualification. However, you can build a portfolio of work samples. Topics covered will include:

  • Using a light source
  • Drawing in pencil, charcoal and oil pastel
  • Making a portfolio

Entry Requirements

Advice will be given on drawing materials and equipment throughout the course. Drawing paper, 2B pencils, charcoals and soft oil pastels will be supplied, however participants are welcome to bring their own.

By making a booking you are declaring yourself medically fit to participate in the course.

What can I do next? You might like to continue working with our group extending your own work and developing a series of drawings or extend your skills by joining the Watercolour short course.

Useful Information

Free parking is available on campus; a permit will be issued and should be clearly displayed.

Participants are advised to bring any refreshments they may need.
