Horticultural Machinery Maintenance, Service and Repair

About the Course

This one day course is aimed at small businesses, self-employed individuals and property owners with larger gardens. During the day candidates will learn how to maintain their garden machinery including line trimmers, brushcutters, hedge cutters, blowers and rotary mowers.

Instruction will be given to ensure the machines work safely and efficiently. Topics covered will include recoil cord replacement, rotary blade sharpening, air filter serving, v belt adjustment, cable adjustments etc.

For those requiring a more in depth knowledge on specific equipment may wish to consider a more advanced servicing and repair course.

A Writtle University College Certificate of Attendance will be issued on completion of the course.

We are governed by Health and Safety Executive (HSE) regulations therefore candidates will not be allowed to start the course without wearing steel toe capped boots or shoes, gloves and suitable protective clothing which provides full cover for arms and legs. Useful Information

Candidates are encouraged to bring their own machines in “as used” condition along with operator manuals and any spares, e.g. air filters, blades, etc. We can then work on a “real” situation and do some routine servicing.
