Grafting and Propagation Workshop

About the Course

Those attending this workshop will be shown how to graft their own apple variety onto a rootstock. They will also be shown how to work grafting to change varieties or produce a family tree. Advice will also be given on equipment to use and where to source materials. Participants will leave with the knowledge to graft at home and in addition to this develop practical skills in taking hardwood cuttings and layering.

A Writtle University College Certificate of Attendance will be issued on completion of the course.

Entry Requirements

By making a booking you are declaring yourself medically fit to participate in the course.

Useful Information

As with all practical courses, participants are required to wear suitable outdoor clothing, appropriate for weather conditions and sturdy footwear (steel toe capped preferred)

Participants will need By-pass secateurs, work gloves and note taking equipment.

Free parking is available on campus; a permit will be issued and should be clearly displayed.

Participants are advised to bring a packed lunch and all refreshments needed for the day.
