About the Course
This half day training course is for anyone who is liable to disturb asbestos while carrying out their normal everyday work, or who may influence how work is carried out.
Asbestos Awareness has a fairly simple syllabus, as defined within Regulation 10 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012:
The session includes many typical examples of where asbestos has been used in both commercial and domestic premises, main diseases associated with asbestos and how to avoid coming in contact with asbestos.
Attainment of the learning outcome for the qualification will be assessed by a multiple-choice examination consisting of at least 15 questions under exam conditions.

- What is asbestos? – the main properties of asbestos and the health affects
- The types and likely occurrences of asbestos containing materials in plant and premises
- General and emergency procedures to be followed in the event of damage or disturbance of asbestos
- How to avoid the risks from asbestos
