About the Course
The training is aimed at individuals who operate brushcutters and trimmers as part of their work, either in agriculture, horticulture, landscaping and grounds maintenance.
To achieve this qualification candidates must successfully achieve a practical assessment with oral questioning by an NPTC City & Guilds approved assessor.
We are governed by Health and Safety Executive (HSE) regulations therefore candidates will not be allowed to start the course without wearing steel toe capped boots or shoes, gloves and suitable protective clothing which provides full cover for arms and legs. We strongly recommend also wearing a high visibility vest and bringing note taking equipment.
Candidates are required to bring their own Personal Protective Equipment as listed below:
- Brushcutter face shield to EN166 and hearing protection to EN352
- Safety glasses to EN166
- Safety helmet to EN397 for protection against falling objects and overhead obstructions, incorporating ear protection to EN352. Under a mesh visor as face protection, safety glasses to EN166 must be worn as eye protection
- Gloves - adequate to protect hands against flying debris
Free parking is available on campus; a permit will be issued and should be clearly displayed.
Tea and coffee making facilities are available, please bring a packed lunch and any other refreshments.
