Allotments and Smallholdings - Autumn / Winter

About the Course

This two day course is ideal for the beginner to raise confidence in managing a new or existing allotment, smallholding or larger area of garden. Participants will be given advice on how to produce a range of fruit, vegetables, herbs and/or cut flowers.

Topics covered will include:

• Where to begin on a new plot

• Soil management

• Ways of growing (Including Organic)

• Weed identification and control

A Writtle University College Certificate of Attendance will be issued on completion of the course.

By making a booking you are declaring yourself medically fit to participate in the course

Useful Information

As with all practical courses participants are required to wear work clothes, sturdy footwear (steel toe capped preferred) and gloves.

Participants will require note taking equipment.

Free parking is available on campus; a permit will be issued and should be clearly displayed.

Catering facilities are limited at the weekend therefore participants are advised to bring a packed lunch and all refreshments needed for the day.
