About the Course
This one day course is ideal for the beginner to raise confidence in managing a new or existing allotment or larger area of garden. Candidates will be given advise on how to produce a range of fruit, vegetables and herbs. Topics covered will include:
- Where to begin on a new plot
- Soil management
- Sowing techniques
- Ways of growing (Including Organic)
- Weed identification and control
Candidates will also receive information on a range of pests, diseases, disorders and weeds and advice on the implementation of a suitable control programme.

By making a booking you are declaring yourself medically fit to participate in the course.
Useful Information
As with all practical courses candidates are required to wear work clothes, sturdy footwear (steel toe capped preferred) and gloves.
Candidates will require note taking equipment.
Free parking is available on campus; a permit will be issued and should be clearly displayed.
