Accommodation & Campus Life
Writtle University College has a lively and community atmosphere. Our mix of students and on-campus facilities create an environment that allows students to flourish and quickly integrate into student life.
We have 382 rooms available in 14 Halls of Residence set in beautiful gardens on the main campus. Halls are close to all main amenities such as the Bar and Recreation and Fitness Centre, catering outlets, library, computer suites and laundry facilities.
The Accommodation Office provides advice and guidance on accommodation matters both on and off-campus, as well as processing halls applications and providing details of available off campus accommodation. Students often use the office as the first point of call for any student issues and will always receive a warm welcome.
UPDATE FOR SEPTEMBER 2020
Our next HE academic year will start as planned on 14th September and we cannot wait to welcome new and returning residents back to campus. We are working hard together with the residential support services and the student union to ensure your experience with us will be as close to normal as it can be, in a COVID-safe environment.
In order to ensure the safety of our Halls Residents, we will be implementing the following:
- Hand sanitising stations have been introduced at each entrance doorway in halls
- A new cleaning regime, with a weekly deep clean in communal areas has been introduced
- Social distancing procedures have been introduced in common rooms limiting the number of residents at any one time
- Lower occupancy rates in the basic halls with shared bathroom and shower facilities to decrease the ratio of students per shower/toilet
International Students will be able to book a room on campus prior to your start date to abide by the government quarantine guidelines. If you would like to find out more information please email email@example.com for more information.
Arrival Days - To allow for a very safe moving in experience we will be staggering dates and times for our students to move into halls in September 2020.
