Graduated: BSc (Hons) Landscape Architecture
Nationality: British
Occupation: Landscape Architect and Architectural Technologist

Why did you choose to study at Writtle University College?
Originally I considered Writtle for practical reasons, the course was well suited due to being accredited by the Landscape Institute and the location was accessible.

When I attended the open day and interview with the course leader, I felt that we had a really positive discussion about the course content and the way in which this content was delivered, and this made me think it would be right to choose Writtle rather than any other institutions.

What does Writtle University College mean to you?
I came to Writtle mainly for practical reasons, but the experience that I had whilst there and the people that I met (both staff and fellow students) far exceeded my expectations and that experience has given me real enthusiasm for the profession it has prepared me for.

What did/ do you particularly enjoy about your course?
The course has a good balance of background theory and design exercises, and activities such as site visits and the study trip are always good fun. The format in which the dissertation module is delivered combined with the enthusiasms that lecturers have for their subject and for teaching made it a very rewarding part of the course and for me the most enjoyable module.

My Current Job
Landscape Architect and Architectural Technologist for the Paul Robinson Partnership (uk) LLP.

I have been working for the Paul Robinson Partnership (uk) LLP since 2006, originally employed as an Architectural Technologist. The completion of the course at Writtle topped up a foundation degree in landscape design and management that I had already completed at a previous teaching institution. The completion of the course at Writtle has supported my ability to diversify my skills and to seek career progression and wider opportunities with current and/or other potential employers.

Future Plans
I would like to move on to completing postgraduate study and gaining chartership in the future. In the meantime I am continuing to gain experience in professional practice and hope to pursue theoretical interests that have arisen out of my studies in particular my dissertation.
