Writtle College Graduation Ceremony, 13th and 14th September 2007

Writtle College's Graduation Ceremony takes place at Chelmsford Cathedral on 13th and 14th September 2007, to honour students from undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. More than 350 students will be attending.

Two ceremonies will take place on Thursday 13th September. The first at 11am honouring graduates from Business Management, Agriculture, Rural Resources and Leisure Management courses. The second takes place at 2.30pm honouring graduates from Horticulture, Floristry, Interior Design and Garden Design courses.

Alan Titchmarsh MBE, Writtle College patron, and famous gardener, broadcaster and author, will be guest of honour at both ceremonies on Thursday to present degrees to graduates. Also in attendance will be University of Essex's Professor Nigel South, Pro Vice-Chancellor Academic and Regional Development.

The Thursday ceremony will also see the presentation of the Duchess of Kent Awards, awarded to two members of staff at the College in recognition of their services. The 2007 awards go to Jill Baldwin, Lecturer and Head of Careers, and John Williams, Senior Science Technician.

One ceremony will take place on Friday 14th September at 11am to honour graduates from Equine, Animal Science/Management and Sports and Exercise Performance courses. Also in attendance will be Dr Tony Rich, Registrar and Secretary of University of Essex.

The 2007 ceremony will be the first graduation for Writtle College Principal, Professor David Butcher.
