Marks Hall curator and Tiptree jams boss to be given Honorary Awards

The Curator of Marks Hall Gardens and Arboretum and the Joint Managing Director of Tiptree jams will be honoured at Writtle University College's Graduation Ceremonies this year.

The ceremonies, on 8 September at Chelmsford Cathedral, are the first for new Vice-Chancellor Professor Tim Middleton, who joined the University College in August.

Jonathan Jukes, the Curator of Marks Hall Gardens and Arboretum in Coggeshall, Essex, will be given an Honorary Doctorate Degree and Chris Newenham, the Joint Managing Director of Wilkin & Sons Ltd, will be given an Honorary Fellowship. Baroness Jenkin of Kennington, Founding Chancellor, will give an address.

The ceremonies will be held on:

• 8 September at 11am

Agriculture, Conservation, Floristry, Horticulture and Design graduates

Honorary Doctorate Degree - Jonathan Jukes

Honorary Fellowship - Chris Newenham

Cereals Challenge winners

• 8 September at 2.30pm

Animal Science, Equine and Sport graduates.
