Writtle University College is the first institution in the UK to offer a three-year floristry degree.
Students who study with us at Writtle are able to draw inspiration from our picturesque campus and beautiful landscaped gardens. Our expert teaching staff, who have a wealth of industry experience, and fantastic, purpose-built facilities enable our students to develop as creative thinkers with a high level of technical skill who can demonstrate the ability to research and interpret ideas, showing imagination and creative flair.
The courses we offer enable students to create bespoke designs for a variety of occasions; to understand the design process, as well as botanical details about the care and handling of cut materials. An introduction to business and marketing are other important topics covered, enabling students to branch out and diversify their career after graduation.
For those who choose to study the three-year BA programme with us, they will benefit from membership to the Institute of Professional Florists (IoPF) which is embedded within the course. In addition, the BA course also includes a teaching qualification which is completed as part of the degree. UK students have the added flexibility to study with us on a part-time basis, enabling you to continue working whilst studying a higher education qualification.
Recent floristry graduates at Writtle have opened their own businesses or progressed onto a wide range of careers including freelancing for a range of floristry businesses. Others have continued with further study, managed retail floristry sections within other businesses or worked in international floristry organisations including flower schools and hotels.
