Involvement - Writtle University College

Students' Union

We at the Students' Union (SU) encourage all students to get involved with everything and anything they want to, to make their experience with Writtle even better. Whether it's a short trip up to 'Winter Wonderland' in London (just as our international society has done in the past) or a trip to sunny Majorca for a Velo-Schils cycling training camp; like our Writtle Cycling team has just returned from (February 2016). We implore every student to get involved with the events put on by the SU because we want to make the most of your time here.

We also get involved with issues which we feel are relative to our students, such as the #cutthecostcampaign which has been led by NUS. Our 2015/16 Vice President of Involvement (Joshua McDowell) managed to correspond with the MP for Saffron Walden, Alan Hazelhurst, even managing to get him to visit our SU and talk with us.

In the past the SU has also joined fifty thousand other like-minded students, in London, to protest the proposed increased tuition fees in 2010.
In 2011 and hopefully in the year to come the SU have also sent delegates to the NUS national conference to vote and represent on behalf of the students at Writtle. We will be hopefully sending our next delegates to the conference in April 2016 in Brighton. Being able to represent the students of this college at a national scale is truly an excellent experience for us all.
