A clear understanding of the fees and finances involved with studying a course is essential. Writtle University College aims to provide clarity with its fee structure, whilst also helping you to identify potential financial support that you may be eligible to receive. Whether you are looking to study a Further Education or Higher Education course, a UK or international student, or a mature learner who is looking to return to studying, our finance team will be able to provide you with the appropriate financial information.
Tuition Fee LoansUK and EU Undergraduate students will not have to pay tuition fees up-front for any year of study. The Government will provide UK and EU students with a tuition fee loan which is paid directly to WUC. Students only begin to repay this after graduation and once they are earning more than £21,000.

Maintenance GrantIf your course started before August 2016, you can apply for a grant - subject to household income, a non-repayable Maintenance Grant is available to help with students' living costs for full-time English students. Postgraduate Loans 2017/18A Postgraduate Loan can help with course fees and living costs while you study a postgraduate master’s course. You have to repay your Postgraduate Loan at the same time as any other student loans you have. You’ll be charged interest from the day you get the first payment. You can also get extra support if you have a disability.
If your course starts on or after 1 August 2017, you can borrow up to £10,280. The total amount requested will be paid to you evenly over the length of your course.

MOD ELCAS funding for Armed Forces membersWrittle University College is proud to be an approved provider for the Ministry of Defence Enhanced Learning Credit Scheme (ELCAS). This is an initiative to promote lifelong learning amongst current or former members of the Armed Forces by providing financial support towards higher level learning via an application process.

US Federal Loans
If you are a student from the United States you may be eligible for a federal direct loan from the US Department of Education. Students should specify the Federal School Code for Writtle University College (G37213) when completing their FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Please contact Student Finance on 01245 424203 or email Student.Finance@writtle.ac.uk for further details.
Only degree courses are eligible for federal loans. That is only courses which are BSc, MSc or PhD are eligible for Federal Loans. All certificate courses and all other non-degree courses are not eligible for Federal Loans.
Writtle University College is not a participant in the Federal Loans Programme for veterinary programs. Veterinary courses at Writtle are therefore not eligible for Federal Loans.
Writtle University College US students can also apply for the Smart Option Student Loan Programme through Sallie Mae if preferred. Please click on link for further information www.salliemae.com and you will be able to apply through the Online Loan Application Process.
