About the Course

This one day practical course will cover subjects such as;

Manual Handling regulations

Employer and Employee responsibilities

Principles and benefits of safe lifting

Use and selection of PPE

Identification of Hazards

Lifting different types of load

Pushing and pulling a load

Moving a load with another person

Injuries that may occur as a result of poor lifting techniques

Knowledge of dangerous occurrences and how to deal with them

Participants will be encouraged to bring items of equipment related to their work place. The course will provide a greater understanding of Manual Handling and the associated risks of poor lifting techniques.

The training can be used in prepartation for the NPTC assessment not included in the cost.

Entry Requirements

Please come appropriately dressed for practical sessions.

Useful Information

Free parking is available on campus; a permit will be issued and should be clearly displayed.

Participant may wish to bring their own packed lunch, although the Tea Rooms and college Garden Room restaurant are both open for lunch. Refreshments will be provided.
