About the Course

This one day course will provide participants with basic information on health and safety and their roles and responsibilities. Topics covered will include:

• Legislation

• Health

• Safety

• Welfare

• The workplace and workplace equipment

• Risk assessment

• Manual handling

• Hazardous substances

• Ergonomics and workstation design

• Transport and vehicles

• Noise and vibration

The six hour course is followed by a multiple choice exam paper.

Entry Requirements

Photographic identification is required at the start of this Qualifications Network Accredited course.

Please come appropriately dressed for practical sessions.

Useful Information

Free parking is available on campus; a permit will be issued and should be clearly displayed.

Participant may wish to bring their own packed lunch, although the Tea Rooms and college Garden Room restaurant are both open for lunch. Refreshments will be provided.
