About the Course

This one day course is for owners who would like to learn to groom their dogs. Topics covered include bathing, grooming, ear hair, nail clipping, parasites, skin problems and advice on anal glands. Participants must bring a dog with them.

Certain breeds naturally need more attention e.g. Old English Sheepdogs, Poodles and Labradoodles. Skills are learnt over a longer period of time and participants may wish to discuss this with the tutor before booking. Please contact short course training on 01245 421782 to arrange this.

Short haired breeds may not take all day to groom therefore an opportunity to assist another participant could be an option.

We would recommend any dog, especially puppies, attend a grooming parlour or groomer before coming on this course, to familiarise them. This will help to avoid distressing the dog.

A Writtle University College Certificate of Attendance will be issued on completion of the course.

To book your dog into our professional grooming parlour please call 01245 422505
