Veterinary Nursing Apprenticeships at Writtle University College

Veterinary Nursing involves providing supportive care to animals receiving treatment within a Veterinary Practice. A veterinary nurse will work to provide professional nursing care for sick and injured animals; you will also play a key role in educating owners on maintaining the health and well-being of their pets.

What is an Apprenticeship?

Apprenticeships are an excellent way of gaining qualifications and workplace experience. As an employee you can earn as you learn, gaining practical skills from the workplace, with support and training from Writtle University College. The Apprenticeship Framework is designed to allow you to develop skills that are needed in the veterinary industry by combining knowledge and vocational competency elements, with transferable skills such as English, Maths and employment rights and responsibilities.

What's involved with the Veterinary Nursing Apprenticeship?

The Veterinary Nursing Apprenticeship has been designed to provide you with the expertise you need to become a qualified, registered Veterinary Nurse. The course combines developing your under-pinning knowledge by attending WUC for one day a week, with building your practical experience by being employed in the industry. Over the duration of the course you will build up an electronic portfolio to demonstrate your practical skills and sit both theory and practical exams.
