Writtle is excited to be rolling out the new Operations / Departmental Manager L5 Higher Apprenticeship, which has been specifically designed by employers to meet the needs of industry and provide you with the skills and knowledge to succeed in your industry.
What is an Apprenticeship?
The Apprenticeship offers an exciting, hands-on way to start or progress your career whilst being in paid employment - what a great combination! Apprenticeships are designed to allow you to develop skills that are needed to progress in your chosen career by combining knowledge and vocational competency elements, with transferable skills such as English and Maths.
What's involved with the Business and Management Apprenticeship?
The Management Apprenticeship has been designed to provide you with the expertise you need and the flexible mix of units allows you to customise your learning to suit your management specialisms and employment.
You will need to be in paid employment, in an operational /departmental management role for a minimum of 30 hours per week, including your time at University.
- Typically our higher apprentices attend College one day per month during term-time and work for their employer the remainder of the month. During your University day you will develop your underpinning knowledge, taught and mentored by skilled management professionals and lecturers. Your learning will continue with on-the-job training in the workplace, online learning and assignments towards a 20% off the job training requirement with regular support visits from your Assessor / Mentor.
As an added bonus you will receive automatic student membership to the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and access to all the CMI resources and mentoring facilities.
On average our level 5 Apprenticeships take around 18-20 months, however the time scale of an Apprenticeship is flexible and will depend on the Apprentices prior experience.
